Part A

WHAT DOES IT COST?

  • Part A premium – You usually don’t pay a monthly premium for Part A coverage if you, or your spouse, paid Medicare taxes while working for at least ten years (40 quarters).

  • Part A can be purchased for $565 a month if you have fewer than 30 quarters of Medicare-covered employment or, $311 if you have 30-39 quarters.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?

  • Inpatient care in hospitals

  • Skilled nursing facilities

  • Hospice

  • Home health care

2026 DEDUCTIBLES WHEN USING PART A:

  • $1,736 for a hospital stay of 1-60 days

  • $434 per day for days 61-90 of a hospital stay

  • $868 per day for days 91-150 of a hospital stay (Lifetime Reserve Days, which can only be used once in your lifetime)

  • 100% of all expenses beyond 90 or 150 days
