MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT (MEDIGAP) INSURANCE
-
Supplemental insurance plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).
-
Supplement plans help to cover some of the “gaps” in Medicare – Deductibles and coinsurance expenses that Medicare does not cover.
-
Medicare is billed first – Supplement is billed second – You are billed last.
-
Policies are standardized from company to company – Policies A, B, C, F, G, K, L, & N – but premiums will vary between companies.
-
You may be eligible for Plans C and F if you turned age 65 before Jan. 1, 2020, and are currently enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B.
-
Supplement plans do not work in conjunction with Medicare Advantage insurance plans.
-
Physicians are reimbursed at Medicare Allowable Rates.
-
These plans do not include Part D Prescription Drug Coverage. You will need to purchase a stand-alone Prescription Drug plan. See Part D.
